On 24 November 2018, in the conference hall of Best Western City Hotel (Sofia), was implemented the event “Youth space: why voting is important?”. It was organized by Association “Expert Pool – Bulgaria” under the project “Vote 4 Your Europe” with the financial support of the “Europe for Citizens” Programme 2014-2020.
Within the event representative of the European Parliament information office in Bulgaria presented the information campaign for the upcoming European elections and the platforms www.thistimeimvoting.eu and www.what-europe-does-for-me.eu/ – tools for promoting the elections and reasons for voting.
Representatives from Bulgaria and the partner countries Poland, Albania, Portugal, Lithuania, Spain, Estonia, Germany, Greece and Italy discussed the challenges facing Europe today – Euroscepticism, the future of the Union, the low trust that people have in national and European institutions. The focus was on the topic of promoting the youth democratic participation.
An online opinion poll was conducted to find out the participants’ reasons to vote in the EP elections and what’s the best way to increase vote turnout.
